Chin implants are made of silicone. During your consultation, you will have the chance to see and touch the various implants available, and Dr. Elizabeth will guide you through this process in order to select the perfect implant size and shape for you. Chin implant urgery is an outpatient procedure. Incisions may be made inside your mouth or just beneath your chin to allow Dr. Elizabeth to place your implant with no visible scars. Eye lifts, face lifts, brow lifts, nose jobs, and ear pinning are other procedures that may be performed at the same time as chin implant plastic surgery.

When your chin implant has been successfully placed, Dr. Elizabeth will tape your chin to support your new implant and minimize swelling. You may experience mild pain which may be managed with pain medication. Bruising and swelling are typical. Bruising generally resolves 7-14 days after your surgery. Swelling goes down significantly over the first 14 days but may linger for 6-8 weeks. You may also find it difficult to talk and smile for the first couple of days after surgery; this should improve in a short time. Numbness of the skin over the chin after this surgery is common, but should resolve within 6-12 months.
