Albuquerque Rhinoplasty (Nasal Surgery)
Improving Your Profile, Your Facial Proportions, and Your Self-Confidence
Rhinoplasty is a continually evolving operation to improve the overall aesthetic appearance of the face by refining the shape and contour of the nose. It is often considered to be the most complex, but also the most powerful, cosmetic procedure. The goal of this procedure is to create a natural looking nose that is suited, in both size and shape, to your face. Rhinoplasty can be a subtle modification that allows more important beauty features—such as your eyes and lips—to be better appreciated, or it can be a significant recreation of your nose that corrects significant deformities and mis-proportions of the face.
Correcting Imperfections of the Nose
Rhinoplasty is performed as an outpatient surgical procedure to modify the size or shape of the nose (hence, the surgery is often called a “nose job” in Albuquerque and throughout the country); the procedure may be performed whether the disfigurement or undesirable feature is genetically acquired or from a sustained injury. Undesirable features—such as a dorsal hump, bulbous or malformed nasal tip, wide nasal bridge or a crooked nose—can be corrected with a rhinoplasty.
Improving Your Self Confidence
If you’re considering a nose job in Albuquerque, you’ll want to know how the surgery is performed and how it can improve your facial appearance and your self confidence. During your consultation, Dr. Elizabeth will provide answers to the questions you may have so that you know exactly what to expect with your surgery.
To give you a realistic expectation of what can be accomplished with rhinoplasty, photos will be taken of your face from the front and side views during your consultation. Using our state-of-the-art Digital Computerized Imaging software, Dr. Elizabeth is able to show you what results may be obtained before you even have surgery!
Obtaining a Successful Outcome
Good rapport between the patient and surgeon is essential to a successful facial plastic surgery outcome. It is during the consulting stages prior to surgery that trust—based on realistic expectations and exacting medical expertise—develops.
For your Albuquerque rhinoplasty, Dr. Elizabeth will use her surgical skills as a facial plastic surgeon and her experience as an ear, nose, and throat physician to achieve your desired improvements.
The surgery is performed under local anesthesia combined with pre-operative sedation, intravenous sedation, or general anesthesia to relieve anxiety. Nasal surgery usually involves making very small incisions inside the nasal cavity. Cartilage and bone that support and shape the nose are then precisely sculpted and the nasal bones are shaped and thinned to achieve the desired appearance. The incisions are well camouflaged inside the nose so that they literally leave no visible scarring.
A small cast will be placed over the nose to maintain the newly created shape which will be removed after 7 days. Dr. Elizabeth does not use nasal packing for rhinoplasties.
