Rhinoplasty is performed as an outpatient surgical procedure to modify the size or shape of the nose (hence, the surgery is often called a “nose job” in Albuquerque and throughout the country); the procedure may be performed whether the disfigurement or undesirable feature is genetically acquired or from a sustained injury. Undesirable features—such as a dorsal hump, bulbous or malformed nasal tip, wide nasal bridge or a crooked nose—can be corrected with a rhinoplasty. Revision rhinoplasty is performed when additional rhinoplasty surgery is performed after the initial surgery. These surgeries are extremely complex, and Dr. Elizabeth is specially trained in revision rhinoplasty.
While many people think of rhinoplasty as a strictly cosmetic surgery, reshaping of the nose may be necessary to also improve breathing function, but it should also preserve your nasal function. Only specialized facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons like Dr. Elizabeth Blasberg are trained extensively in both cosmetic and functional improvements to the nose.
Blepharoplasty is the technical term for what is commonly referred to as eye lift surgery. This can be performed on either the upper or the lower eyelids.
The upper eyelid lift usually requires some removal of excess skin of the eyelid and possibly some excess fat if needed. This can be performed in the office with or without sedation if desired.
The lower eyelid lift requires a more extensive procedure involving the fat that protects your eye, its nerves, muscles, and blood vessels, in the eye socket. This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, but in the operating room due to the complexity of the procedure.
Facelifts can improve the appearance of sagging, deep creases, loss of muscle tone, loose skin and excess fatty deposits that develop as we age. Depending on your budget and facial aesthetic goals, there are many types of facelift surgeries to consider: mini facelifts, deep-plane facelifts, lower facelifts including the neck and under the chin, and mid-facelifts which are commonly done along with browlift.
During your initial consultation with Dr. Elizabeth Blasberg, she will recommend and fully explain the best procedure to reach your goals.
Otoplasty is the technical term for ear surgery which involves "pinning" the ears in order to reduce how much they stick out from the side of the head. Ear surgery can help improve the shape of your ears, better position your ears (by pinning back the ear or raising or lowering the ear), and make your ear size more proportional to your face. Otoplasty is generally not covered by insurance since it is considered a cosmetic surgery.
Ear lobe repairs can be performed as well, in the office, for torn ear piercings, widened or stretched ear piercings, other earlobe deformities or injuries, or to repair/reduce gauged earlobes for patients who no longer wish to have large holes in their earlobes. These procedures can be done in the clinic with or without sedation.
Fight the signs of aging with a browlift! A browlift surgery is an outpatient procedure that minimizes the appearance of age by smoothing the forehead, raising the upper eye brows and reducing the appearance of frown lines that are commonly found between the eye brows. It can also even out asymmetry of the brows, and it helps open the eyes and minimize the appearance of excess skin over and next to the upper eyelids. Dr. Elizabeth performs minimally invasive endoscopic browlifts as well as open or traditional browlifts.
Open browlift surgery can be performed not only to lift the brows, but also to change the hairline shape and position. The hairline can be altered to shorten a long forehead or round out the hairline as desired.
For those interested in a milder and less invasive alternative, BOTOX® or DAXXIFY® chemical browlift with neurotoxin may be an option for you.
If you’ve ever longed for higher cheek bones to enhance the aesthetic appearance of your face, cheek surgery may be an option for you. Cheek implants are a way to establish facial symmetry or increase the size of the cheeks. They provide a subtle change to the appearance of your face and can enhance other notable facial features, such as your eyes.
Implants are usually made of silicone and inserted into the face in an outpatient surgical procedure. Incisions may be made inside the mouth or within the hairline so that scarring is not visible to others. Mid-facial cheek implants may be placed at the same time you have other cosmetic procedures, like a facelift, browlift, rhinoplasty or chin implant.
Dr. Elizabeth can also remove implants or replace previously placed implants.
Lip augmentation is one of the most common cosmetic procedures in the world. Over the last several decades, physicians have designed an entire suite of procedures designed to restore volume, smooth lines, and bring back the lips’ youthful glow. Lip filler and a lip lift are among the most effective ways to improve the appearance of the lips.
